The R-6 Physical Education Teacher is responsible for planning, delivering, and assessing engaging physical education programs for students from Reception to Year 6. This role aims to enhance students' physical skills, promote healthy lifestyles, and foster positive attitudes towards physical activity through inclusive and developmentally appropriate practice.
Key Responsibilities
* Curriculum Planning: Design and implement lessons aligned with the South Australian Curriculum for Health and Physical Education.
* Delivery of Activities: Deliver diverse sporting, fitness, and movement activities suited to the developmental stages of R‐6 students.
* Teaching & Assessment: Establish safe, supportive learning environments where all students can participate and achieve; assess student progress, provide constructive feedback, and use data to inform instructional practice. Encourage teamwork, fair play, and self‐management through physical education activities.
* Whole School Collaboration: Lead and coordinate school sporting events, excursions, and carnivals as required; communicate effectively with students, families, and colleagues regarding physical education programs and student performance.
* Resource Management: Maintain and manage PE equipment and facilities.
* Professional Practice: Participate in school meetings, planning, and reporting as required.
