Overview of the IAM Business Analyst Role


Job Description:

The successful candidate will play a key role in shaping secure, scalable, and compliant IAM processes. They will collaborate with stakeholders to understand business needs and translate them into technical specifications.


Main Responsibilities:

1. Gathering and Analysis
* Collaborate with stakeholders to comprehend IAM-related business requirements.
* Document functional and non-functional requirements.
* Translate business needs into detailed technical specifications.
2. Stakeholder Communication
* Serve as a liaison between business units, IT security, and IAM vendors.
* Facilitate workshops, interviews, and meetings to ensure effective communication.
* Communicate complex IAM concepts in a clear, concise manner.
3. IAM Solution Support
* Support the selection and implementation of IAM tools (e.g., SailPoint, Azure AD/Entra, Ping Identity, NetIQ IDM).
* Participate in UAT and integration testing.
* Contribute to defining and managing IAM roles, policies, and access controls.
4. Documentation & Training
* Develop comprehensive documentation, including use cases, process flows, and training materials.
* Support change management and user adoption through targeted training initiatives.
5. Governance & Compliance
* Provide support for audits and access reviews.
* Ensure IAM practices align with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
6. Continuous Improvement
* Stay up-to-date with the latest IAM trends, threats, and technologies.
* Recommend enhancements to IAM policies, procedures, and tools to drive continuous improvement.

To be successful in this role, you should possess:

* Proven experience as a Business Analyst in IAM or cybersecurity domains.
* Strong analytical and documentation skills.
* Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities.
* Hands-on experience with IAM tools such as SailPoint, Azure AD/Entra, Ping Identity, or NetIQ IDM.
* Familiarity with regulatory frameworks (e.g., GDPR, SOX).
* Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
* A proactive mindset with a focus on innovation and continuous improvement.
