Fixed term fulltime position for 12 months with the potential for extension

The Gene Editing Technology and Therapeutics Laboratory is an exciting, collaborative, and innovative research group working at the forefront of CRISPR technology, genetic disease therapeutics, mammalian gene drive, neuroscience, and genetically engineered mouse model development.

We are seeking a Research Assistant with expertise in molecular biology, cell culture, and mouse handling to contribute to cutting-edge projects in gene editing and therapeutic development. About the Role:

As a Research Assistant, you will play a crucial role in executing and supporting laboratory experiments, working closely with PhD students, postdocs, and senior researchers. Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

- Molecular Biology Techniques – Plasmid preparation, molecular cloning, nucleic acid extraction, PCR, qPCR, RT-PCR, ddPCR, Western blot, and IVT.
- Cell Culture & Flow Cytometry – Cell culture maintenance, transfection, and FACS analysis.
- Mouse Handling & Experimental Work – Intraperitoneal and retro-orbital injections, tissue collection, genotyping, and other in vivo procedures.
- Laboratory Innovation & Training – Learning and optimising new techniques, as well as mentoring students in laboratory skills.
- Laboratory Management – Maintaining a well-organized lab space, ordering reagents and consumables, and ensuring lab stocks are replenished.

Note that occasional weekend work may be required for tissue culture maintenance.
