RSL Queensland (RSLQ) is the largest ex‑service organisation in Queensland – providing practical support, assistance and camaraderie to veterans, current serving Defence members, and their families across the state and nationally.

Veteran Services department strives to provide all veterans and their families with a streamlined, supportive and empowering experience after leaving the Australian Defence Force.

Funding our vital work is the Dream Home Art Union, proudly RSL Queensland – Australia's largest and most successful not‑for‑profit prize home lottery.

Now, a little about the role:

The VFWC Manager coordinates the Veteran and Family Wellbeing Centre (VFWC) to aid veterans, their families and the wider Defence community. Working closely with your Head of VFWC Operations as your leader and RSLQ teams, you'll manage the VFWC to ensure customer service and facilities provided to veterans and their families remain at the highest of standards.


Key Accountabilities

* Ensure timely advice, messages, and business continuity information is maintained and disseminated across the VFWC
* Ensure that supporting external services (welfare, accommodation, employment, and advocacy) are coordinated and linked to VFWC clients effectively
* Manage support requests and referrals across the teams and respond to inbound client requests
* Prepare and implement the operational plan in the assigned location in line with the Department strategy
* Participate in initiatives designed to enhance the brand and increase the VFWC public profile within your community
* Establish and maintain strong network relationships with all stakeholder entities
* Lead achievement of financial management targets as set by Executive and Senior Leadership, and more...


What's required to succeed

* 5+ years' experience leading and managing people and resources to deliver services
* Tangible experience managing an office, centre, or facility and leading support services where customer is the centre
* Ability to engage respectfully and empathetically with individuals in vulnerable circumstances, maintaining sensitivity to their needs
* Proven ability to manage competing priorities, work collaboratively across the business functions, and ensure a positive working environment
* Proven ability to manage competing priorities and work collaboratively using well‑honed research, analytical and problem‑solving skills
* Demonstrated strong verbal, written, interpersonal, negotiation, networking, partnering and relationship management skills
