Responsibilities
- Conduct client and family assessments and produce reports as required
- Provide input and regular reviews of each child's care plan, including maintaining electronic client records
- Provide intensive support, including interventions to children, family and carers as required
- Provide outreach and centre‐based support work with the team to assist families in dealing with their child's health and development in town and remote communities
- Work in collaboration with other members of H2HK, GPs, other Congress services and external partners to achieve the best possible outcome for children.
Qualifications
- Willingness, ability and appropriate levels of health and fitness to travel to and work from remote locations when required.
- Degree in Speech Pathology with eligibility for practising membership of Speech Pathology Australia, with a minimum of two years' post grad experience
- Knowledge and understanding of child development, mental health as well as neurodevelopmental disorders including FASD, ADGD, ASD and Global Development Disorders
- Proven skills in the assessment and therapeutic intervention for a range of childhood disabilities including physical, cognitive and emotional development
- Awareness of and sensitivity to Aboriginal culture, and history and knowledge of factors influencing the health and lives of Aboriginal children and families in Central Australia.
