Role Description
This is a full‐time, on‐site Excavator Operator role based in Brisbane, QLD. The Excavator Operator will be responsible for safely operating excavators and other heavy equipment for plumbing and earthmoving works across commercial, civil, and residential sites. Daily tasks include performing excavations, trenches, backfilling, and site preparation according to plans and specifications. The role involves conducting pre‐start checks, basic equipment maintenance, and reporting any faults or safety concerns. The operator will work closely with site supervisors and crew members to ensure jobs are completed efficiently, accurately, and in compliance with safety and environmental regulations.
Qualifications
* Strong skills in Equipment Operation and Heavy Equipment handling, with demonstrated experience operating excavators on construction or civil sites.
* Proficiency in Excavation and Trench work, including digging to specified depths, working around services, and maintaining stable, safe work areas.
* Ability to perform routine Equipment Maintenance and daily inspections to ensure machinery is safe, clean, and in good working order.
* Valid tickets/licences for operating excavators and other relevant plant, along with a current driver's licence.
* Good understanding of workplace health and safety practices, including safe work methods, hazard identification, and use of PPE.
* Experience working on plumbing, civil, or construction projects is highly regarded, particularly in commercial and residential environments.
* Ability to read and follow site plans, directions from supervisors, and job specifications with attention to detail.
* Reliable, punctual, and able to work effectively in a team, with clear communication and a professional approach on site.
