We have an exciting opportunity for an Accounts Payable Officer to join our Procurement team at HSBC. The key function of this role is to receive, review and process expenditures (invoices/credit notes/employee expense claims) to the accounting and payment systems to ensure the companies liabilities/assets are correctly reflected in the chart of accounts and that accurate payments are made to our vendors and employees.
**Responsibilities**:
- Review the contents of the payment documents received and verify authorisation
- Answer queries related to invoices and expenses from both internal employees and suppliers regarding payments, invoice status and technical/process guidance.
- To prepare periodic analysis on elements of activity such as vendor and late payment analysis, GL, and suspense account positions.
- To manage the administration of Corporate Credit Cards
- Participate in projects as required
- Supporting local management and working with the offshore processing team, performing audits, approvals, and reconciliation of accounts.
- Identify and drive process improvements
Requirements
**Requirements**:
- Previous experience in a similar accounts payable role or accounts receivable role.
- Oracle and/or Fusion familiarity highly regarded
- Experience working in a financial services organisation preferred
- Strong MS Excel skills
- Experience identifying and driving process improvements is desirable
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Attention to detail
