We foster a collaborative, respectful, and inclusive work environment, where staff are empowered to innovate, supported professionally, and deeply integrated into the broader Gympie communityKey Responsibilities Based on the Queensland Department of Education's generic School Technical Officer (TO2/TO3) role description, the successful candidate will: * Oversee and maintain the school's ICT infrastructure, including acquisition, installation, operation, maintenance, repair, and replacement of systems * Provide technical advice and hands-on support for staff and students using ICT equipment (laptops, desktops, iPads, printers, etc.), aligned with departmental and manufacturer standards * Deliver in-service training to staff in applying ICT tools effectively to enhance student learning * Diagnose and resolve hardware and software issues promptly, maintaining a customer-focused approach * Conduct preventative maintenance, as well as routine and emergency repairs to ICT facilities * Keep accurate records of technical services, inventory, and maintenance activities * Work collaboratively with regional and central support staff to troubleshoot and manage complex technical issues * Support network infrastructure: switches, wireless access points, data outlets, and cabling (depending on local expectations) Candidate Profile The following skills and attributes will be highly regarded: * Proven experience in supporting and maintaining ICT systems, including hardware, software, and peripherals. * Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. * Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, able to explain technical issues clearly to non-technical users. * Commitment to providing excellent customer service for both students and staff. * Ability to deliver training or coaching to staff in the use of ICT tools. * Knowledge of server hardware configuration and networking systems (LAN, WAN, wireless) * Experience with remote support tools, or managing workstations and servers remotely * Understanding of network security protocols Interested?
