Job Summary
The infrastructure pipeline in South Australia and Australia continues to grow, and AECOM is playing an influential role in the development and delivery of many of these key infrastructure programs and projects. This includes projects in the Defence, roads and transport, mining and renewable energy markets.
AECOM is seeking applications for many roles to grow our Civil team in Adelaide to support existing the projects and pursue the exciting opportunities ahead.
The right candidates will be highly driven engineers who want to set their career on a new trajectory by delivering a wide variety of infrastructure projects, establishing, and building existing client relationships and leading people.

Key roles for our Civil team include:
* Professional Civil Engineer
You are a Civil Engineer who is looking to take the next development steps in your career. You are able to work independently and collaboratively within a team. You will exhibit a good understanding of basic technical skills whilst demonstrating willingness to learn and take on roles of increasing complexity and responsibility.
* Senior Civil Engineer
You will be an experienced Civil Engineer with a proven track record and who is focused on the delivery of high-quality work and is looking for the next steps of their career. You will have good coordination and communicating skills. You are able to analyse and apply solutions to increasingly challenging and complex issues. The right candidate will also be able to mentor and coach junior engineers.
* Principal Civil Engineer
You will be a highly sought-after engineer, with excellent technical experience, to provide in-house expertise in your field. You will be able to act in Project Management / Design Management roles on major projects. As part of your role, you will not only perform technical engineering activities, but also be able to identify opportunities for developing new service offerings. The right candidate will also be able to mentor, manage and coach junior engineers.
Minimum Requirements
You enjoy working in teams and aspire to leadership and/or advanced technical roles based on your knowledge as part of multi-disciplinary teams, or managing relevant projects outright. You enjoy being accountable for your work and influential in the project’s performance. You enjoy developing and nurturing relationships within AECOM and local industry, whether through project work, client initiatives or industry associations. You are positive, looking at challenges as opportunities to innovate, collaborate and grow. You are an active team member and are eager to take on new and different.
Ideally you will have some or all of the below requirements:
* Technical skills and broad background in general civil design including roads, water, wastewater, drainage across a range of markets.
* Ability to work in multi-disciplinary teams and coordinate the integration of civil designs with other disciplines.
* Competent in exercising sound engineering judgement whilst contributing to the design and development of engineering solutions, identifying constraints, opportunities and buildability issues.
* Able to self-direct and work independently, but also to lead and mentor younger engineers
* Ability to collaborate within a team environment and proven strength in communicating concepts/ideas to technical and non-technical stakeholders; and
* Project management experience including seeking opportunities from clients, submitting proposals, project and design management for civil engineering projects.
* Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
* Experience in using industry-standard drainage analysis and design software technology applications (e.g. 12D, DRAINS, etc.).
* Experience in delivering in multi-disciplinary environments
* Experience working in a consultancy and local knowledge of the Adelaide market preferable
* Minimum of 3+ years of industry experience
* Currently has or willing to obtain Defence Clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
* Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering
* Membership of Engineers Australia, working towards or preferably CPEng.
