Government Relations Advisor (Part-Time – Contract)
An exciting opportunity is available for a highly skilled and strategic Government Relations Advisor to join a leading organisation on a part-time contract basis. This is a key role supporting the external communication of high-impact strategic initiatives, with a strong focus on influencing government policy and securing public investment.
About The Role
The role involves positioning major projects within government and budgetary frameworks, driving support through strategic engagement with policymakers and key stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
* Work closely with internal teams to ensure advocacy is aligned with strategic planning goals.
* Provide advice to senior leadership on evolving policy landscapes and legislative developments.
* Prepare briefing notes, presentations, and communication materials that clearly convey strategic priorities.
* Build and maintain strong relationships with government agencies, Ministers’ offices, and local authorities.
* Advise on negotiation, communication, and engagement approaches to influence policy and funding outcomes.
* Represent the organisation in government relations forums and contribute to strategic engagement activities.
Key Requirements
* Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline.
* Extensive experience in public policy and government relations.
* Strong understanding of the political environment and budgetary processes.
* Demonstrated success engaging with government stakeholders at all levels.
* Outstanding communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
* Strong analytical thinking and project management capabilities.
This flexible part-time position (16 to 24 hours per week) offers a competitive hourly rate with working days negotiable based on business needs.
