The Department of Customer Services, Open Data and Small and Family Business is seeking an exceptional leader to take on the critical role of Deputy DirectorGeneral, Data and Digital Government. Key Responsibilities
* Lead the delivery of secure, modern, and reliable digital systems to support Queensland Government's contemporary service delivery.
* Provide strategic leadership in digital investment, assurance, and cyber security to drive customer‑centric outcomes.
* Collaborate with government, industry, and community stakeholders to address the challenges and opportunities of a rapidly evolving digital environment.
* Prepare Queensland to harness the digital innovation opportunities of the Brisbane 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
Ideal Candidate
* Proven experience in leading data and digital functions across large‑scale, complex organisations.
* A deep understanding of digital transformation, digital investment governance, assurance, and data governance, with the ability to translate these into measurable outcomes for a wide range of stakeholders.
* Extensive stakeholder engagement and relationship management experience, including influencing, negotiating, and collaborating to achieve successful outcomes.
* Demonstrated success in managing investment assurance processes in data and digital systems.
* Extensive experience in risk assessment and mitigation strategies in data, digital applications, and technology, balancing service delivery, expenditure, and risk impact.
* Resilience and agility to deliver results in high‑pressure and rapidly changing environments.
Mandatory Requirements
To be eligible for this role, you must have working rights in Australia. This position is a position of trust and requires the national security clearance of at least the level of Negative Vetting Level 1 (secret).
