**The Role**
Are you a highly motivated and successful team leader and project management specialist, looking for a new, exciting and challenging leadership role?

As the Director of the Program Management Office (PMO) in Explosive Material Branch (EMB), you will work on some of the most exciting and complex projects in Australia and be responsible for leading a team of multiple disciplinary staff geographically dispersed in Canberra (ACT) and Amberley (QLD).

In addition, the Director PMO also undertakes the role of Deputy to the Director General Explosive Materiel Branch (DGEM). This includes responding to tasking requests, additional delegations and the ability to stand in for DGEM in times of absence.

Located in Canberra ACT, every day will be different as you embrace opportunities to:

- Provide direct support to the Branch Head, exercising a range of delegations, providing timely advice, and influencing decision making.
- Provide strategic direction to the work unit, including developing business plans, strategies and priorities and monitoring workflow and performance.
- Deliver and maintain the EMB Program Governance System, Explosive Ordnance and Materiel Logistics Management System and EMB Risk Management System.
- Manage the input to Defence Financial Statements and ANAO testing of Explosive Ordnance (EO) transactions.
- Work with the Senior Leadership Team to develop and embed a culture of behaviours that are consistent, integrated and measurable.
- Provide enabling services across the materiel logistics and program management functions.
- Standardise procedures.
- Represent EMB interests in a range of committees and forums, contributing to achievement of outcomes across the EO enterprise.

This position is part of an expanded Executive Level 2 classification (Executive Level 2, 2.1 and 2.2). The successful applicant will commence their appointment with an enhanced salary offering at the Executive Level 2.1 level ($150,786 - $179,445). Please note, this arrangement (including the enhanced salary offering) will be reviewed annually based on the work value of the duties performed and may result in reassignment of level within the expanded Executive Level 2 classification.

EMB is a group of approximately 560 dedicated employees working across engineering, project management, commercial, logistics and corporate enabling services.

Our mission is acquiring and sustaining guided weapons and munitions for the Australian Defence Force (ADF) across the life-cycle phases: requirements setting; contracting; procurement; international logistics; domestic manufacturing; item management and maintenance, and co-ordination of disposal activities.

EMB partners with domestic and international industry to deliver materiel capability to Defence, managing a multi-billion dollar portfolio of complex, high-profile acquisitions and sustainment activities to support the ADF.

The PMO delivers support and assurance over explosive ordnance and includes:

- Reporting and Systems.
- Governance and Controls; and
- Communications and Engagement.
