Lead. Influence. Strengthen the future of risk. The opportunity This is a critical leadership role responsible for shaping and maintaining the Group's Risk Management Framework. You'll play a central role in ensuring the organisation meets its regulatory obligations while enabling the business to deliver on its strategy safely, sustainably, and with confidence. The role will report to the Chief Risk Officer for the next 12 months before transitioning to report to the General Manager, Compliance.Why this role matters This role is instrumental in helping Insignia Financial achieve its strategic objectives while delivering better outcomes for clients and shareholders. You will be at the forefront of embedding risk discipline, strengthening governance, and influencing decision‐making at the highest levels.What You'll Be Responsible For You will own and continuously enhance the Group's risk framework and strategy, including:Leading the development and Board approval of the Risk Management Strategy and Risk Appetite StatementOwning the Risk Management Framework, including policies, standards, and proceduresDriving a consistent approach to risk appetite across the Group and overseeing reporting against key measuresProviding trusted advice and guidance to the business on risk framework applicationOverseeing adherence to the framework and driving continuous improvement and embedmentLeading key risk standards including, Model Risk, Scenario Analysis (capital, operational resilience, recovery planning) and Emerging RiskFacilitating scenario analysis and emerging risk forums to support forward‐looking risk insightsEnsuring compliance with all regulatory obligations (including APRA and ASIC requirements)Leading engagement with regulators, including responses to requests and reviewsReporting to Executive Risk Forums, Board Risk Committees, and BoardsBuilding and leading a high‐performing, engaged teamWhat You Bring10+ years' experience in risk and compliance within complex financial services environmentsDeep understanding of the Australian regulatory landscape, including APRA and ASICStrong expertise in risk frameworks, capital risk, and model risk governanceExperience within superannuation or investment management (highly regarded)Proven ability to influence senior stakeholders and drive behavioural changeStrong analytical capability with the ability to translate complexity into clear insightsA collaborative leadership style with a passion for coaching and developing othersExcellent communication skills and high attention to detailExperience navigating transformation or remediation environmentsWe acknowledge and celebrate the richness that individual differences bring to our team.
