Recovery Support Specialist
The Recovery Support Specialist role focuses on delivering high-quality care to individuals in their recovery journey. This involves providing respectful, person-centered support that helps people reconnect with their culture, family, community, and opportunities for long-term stability and well-being.
Main Responsibilities
1. Managing a caseload of individuals with complex needs (AOD, homelessness, mental health, or justice system involvement)
2. Promoting evidence-based treatment approaches to support recovery
3. Collaborating effectively within a team to provide strong communication skills
4. Fostering ethical, professional, and culturally sensitive practice
This position requires a Diploma in AOD or a related field, or a degree in Social Work, Counselling, or another relevant discipline. Aboriginality is an essential requirement under Section 14d of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1977.
