About you

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Associate to join our growing Disputes and Investigations team based in Perth. You will be joining a highly regarded team where you can learn from experts and build a long-term career as well as mentoring junior lawyers and support staff.

To be successful in this role you will possess the following qualities:

* 5+ years post admission general litigation experience, with preference given to previous experience in banking litigation and insolvency and mortgage enforcement
* Ability to communicate effectively and professionally (written and verbal)
* A team player who relishes the opportunity to develop your career and use your initiative
* Exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to quickly build rapport with colleagues and stakeholders
* Demonstrated skillset to manage timeframes and proactively manage priorities within a team

Your role

We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Senior Associate with +5 years of post-admission experience to join our established Disputes and Investigation practice group.

Working with leading Partners, Susan Forrest and Sonia Apikian, you will gain valuable exposure to a range of different matters and clients and work as part of a dynamic team environment.

The group works in the areas of recoveries, banking litigation and insolvency, representing local and national clients. The team delivers proven strategic and commercial outcomes to clients through the application of comprehensive legal, forensic, investigative and evidentiary skills.

Day to day, you will:

* Provide advice and management of secured recovery matters
* Assist in negotiations with other parties
* Draft a wide range of documents and correspondence, including:
* Court documents and pleadings
* Letters of demand and breach notices
* Deeds of Settlement and Forbearance
* Preparing briefs to Counsel, instructing Counsel and assisting with mediation
* Appear in Court, including preparing submissions
* Have responsibility for your own files (under supervision and guidance) with direct client relationship management
