Position
Casual Disability Support Worker
📍 Location: Central Coast NSW
🕒 Hours: 10 to 30+ hours per week (with opportunity for hours to increase over time)
What You’ll Do
As a Disability Support Worker with Support Central Co, you will:
• Empower individuals with disabilities to achieve their personal goals and aspirations
• Promote active participation and inclusion within the community
• Support individuals with skill development, community access, and social engagement
• Assist with personal care and daily living activities where required
• Implement and follow individualised support plans and behaviour support strategies
• Provide support to clients with complex behavioural needs
• Work with a diverse range of participants from 3 years of age through to 60+ years
• Maintain professional documentation including daily progress notes and incident reports
• Advocate for the rights, dignity, and independence of people living with disability
Key Requirements
• Availability Monday to Sunday (varied shifts)
• Experience supporting individuals with disability
• Experience supporting complex behaviours highly regarded
• Willingness to provide personal care support where required
• Minimum less than 1 year experience supporting individuals with disability required
• Excellent organisational, communication, and interpersonal skills
• Strong commitment to the rights of people with disabilities
• Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment
• Ability to use Client Record Management Systems (training provided if required)
• Ability to write clear and accurate progress notes and incident reports
• Relevant experience in disability or community support roles
• Registered and insured motor vehicle
• Must be an Australian citizen or permanent resident
Qualifications & Training
• Valid Australian Driver’s Licence
• Current First Aid & CPR Certificate
• Working With Children Check (WWCC)
• NDIS Worker Screening Check
• NDIS New Worker Orientation Module
• Certificate III in Disability, Individual Support, Community Services, or Aged Care
Note: Some certifications may be obtained after commencement of employment.
