We are looking for an enthusiastic Vocational Specialist to join our dynamic Geraldton team, located on Southern Yamatji Country

About the Role
This position supports and empowers young people to achieve their educational and employment goals. Key responsibilities include:
Manage a caseload of up to 20 young people to provide 1:1 individualised work and study support on a weekly basis
Support young people with job searching including applications and interview preparations
Build and maintain local stakeholder relationships and networks in Geraldton to assist young people with their vocational aspirations
Participate in the intake and case conference to ensure suitability and eligibility of the service
Provide individualised ongoing support to young people once they have secured education or employment to assist them in sustaining this placement
Proactively engage and work with employers on a weekly basis to create employment opportunities for young people experiencing mental health challenges
Ensure detailed documentation of case notes into relevant systems and databases
About You
To be considered for this position, applicants will have:
Tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline such as youth work, employment services, social work or other health related disciplines
Demonstrated experience in a similar vocational specialist role (experience within healthcare or community service is desirable)
Well-developed interpersonal skills ensuring friendly and welcoming experiences for stakeholders, whilst maintaining professional and effective verbal and written communication skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Suite, Outlook and willingness to learn new software/programs as needed
Capacity to work with complex and confidential matters in a discrete and sensitive manner
Must possess a deep understanding and appreciation for diversity within the workforce and within our client and stakeholder base
'C' Class Driver's Licence and access to a reliable vehicle

Youth Focus is a for-purpose organisation that creates brighter futures for young people in WA by offering a range of no-cost mental health services. Established in ****, Youth Focus delivers innovative and accessible mental health services and programs across WA to help young people aged 12 to 25. A key component of this is our role as the lead agency for five headspace Centres, including headspace Geraldton Centre, located on Southern Yamatji Country.
