Responsibilities will include
* Assisting NDIS participants along with their families and/or carers to manage challenging behaviours to improve their quality of life and develop new skills.
* Completing thorough assessments to understand behaviour triggers, identify risks, & consider specific strategies to improve behaviour outcomes.
* Developing Behaviour Support Plans and providing support to families and/or carers for consistent implementation.
* Maintaining a caseload with ongoing monitoring support and making adjustments where required.
* Developing meaningful goals and practical strategies utilising a positive behaviour support framework with a commitment to eliminate restrictive practices in the home and community.
* Ensuring individual plans reflect our NDIS participants' goals, passions and strengths and enable them to get more out of life.
* Building the knowledge capacity and strengths of those who support participants in their lives – family carers or friends.
* Acting as an advocate and role model for best practice.
* Working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
Qualifications
To be considered suitable you will have:
* Current suitability as a BSP, as confirmed by the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission.
* Completed a degree‑level qualification as an allied health professional – Social Work, OT, Speech, Psychology degrees preferred.
* 1‑2 years of employment experience working with challenging behaviours as a Mental Health or Disability Support Worker.
* Excellent time‑management and organisational skills to manage a varied caseload.
* Proactive attitude motivated by improvement and the opportunity to test and learn from new ideas.
* Genuine passion for working in the disability sector.
* Report‑writing experience.
