**About the Role**
As a Disability Support Worker, you will be passionate about making a difference in the lives of people with a disability around Canberra. We have casual roles available where you will be providing active, person centred support to people within our CATS program. This may also include supporting our NDIS clients. The shifts are short, split shifts and will be across weekdays with occasional weekends, between 9am to 5pm. You are required to travel to different areas across **Northern, Central and Southern Canberra suburbs.**
CATS Program: Community Assistance and Temporary Support (CATS) Program is assisting individuals that find daily living difficult due to a short-term health issue, illness or injury.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Predominantly domestic assistance (light cleaning such as but not limited to mopping, sweeping, vacuuming, cleaning bathrooms, wiping benches, dusting)
- Personal care
- Maintain and monitor person centred plans
- Documenting and progress note keeping
- Develop rapport and strong relationships with the people we support and their families
- Occasional Community access and transportation
**Skills & Experience**
- Certificate III in Individual Support (Ageing, Disability or similar) or relevant experience
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to build relationships and strong rapport with clients and their families
- Current First Aid and CPR Certificate (must be obtained prior to employment)
- Unrestricted Australian Drivers Licence and own registered and reliable vehicle
To be considered for and appointed to a position at Life Without Barriers, you must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 with a minimum of two (2) doses or hold a valid medical exemption certificate, in accordance with Life Without Barriers Employee COVID-19 Vaccination Policy.
