About The Role
The Parks and Gardens branch manages a network of public open spaces and recreational areas for active and passive recreation, as well as natural landscape preservation within the Sunshine Coast urban environment.
As a Skilled Parks Worker, you will be responsible for plant operation activities that support the efficient day-to-day operation of parks, natural areas, roadside vegetation, and landscape improvements.
You should have knowledge of operating plant such as:
Pneumatic tyred tractor without powered attachments;
Pneumatic tyred tractor with powered attachment up to 110 KW;
Other plant allowable under the Award.
You will also undertake Leading Hand responsibilities when required, including supervising tasks and providing on-the-job coaching, working effectively as part of a high-performing team, delivering high-quality customer service, and seeking ways to improve work practices.
About You
Applicants must possess a CPCCOHS1001A - Work Safely in the Construction - White Card, a current “C” class driver’s license & LR License, and a Certificate III in Horticulture or relevant experience.
You must meet obligations under the Workplace Health and Safety Act and the Environmental Protection Act.
Pre-Employment Medical
Physical agility, fitness, strength, and dexterity are essential for this role, as it involves labouring and heavy lifting. Appointment is subject to a pre-employment medical assessment.
