We are seeking an experienced Program Engagement Officer to strengthen communication, engagement and stakeholder support across a complex portfolio of infrastructure projects.
Working within a specialist communication and stakeholder function, you will play a pivotal role in producing high‑quality written content, supporting engagement activities, and ensuring clear, consistent and timely messaging to communities, government representatives and project stakeholders.
About the Role
You will help ensure effective and consistent communication across the program by producing high‑quality written material, supporting engagement activities and maintaining strong relationships with stakeholders, government representatives and the community.
Key Responsibilities
* Research and prepare high‑quality written content, including briefing notes and correspondence for stakeholders and the wider community.
* Develop and implement community engagement plans, including key messages and targeted communication strategies.
* Produce communication materials such as media responses, newsletters, flyers, project updates, ministerial briefings and display collateral.
* Respond to media enquiries and support preparation of draft media releases.
* Build and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
* Ensure accurate, confidential and compliant management of program documentation and records.
What You Will Bring
* Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to adapt messaging for diverse audiences.
* Proven ability to build and sustain collaborative stakeholder relationships.
* A proactive, solution‑focused approach with sound judgement and an understanding of program‑level decision‑making.
* Solid understanding of policy, governance and recordkeeping requirements within a government environment.
* Experience delivering community engagement best practice and supporting public consultation.
* Demonstrated ability to prepare executive and government correspondence, including briefing notes and ministerial materials.
* Awareness of issues and reputation management principles and the ability to provide sound advice.
