Youth mental health care specialist

Opportunity to transform the lives of young people and their families by providing expert mental health care in a supportive team environment.

This role involves working as part of the Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS) Centralised Intake team, engaging with young people, carers, and service providers via telephone/virtual care to ensure young people access the right service at the right time.

Young people referred to the service have complex and severe mental health problems that significantly impact on most aspects of their functioning and development. As a member of our team, you will benefit from direct line management and guidance from experienced clinicians, regular clinical supervision, and access to continuous training and educational programs.

* Must hold a qualification in one of the following: Occupational Therapy, Nursing, Social Work, Counsellor (Degree in Bachelor of Health Science Mental health).
* For appointment at Clinical Nurse Specialist Grade 2: relevant post-registration qualifications and at least 3 years' experience working in the clinical area of their specified post-graduate qualification.

You will contribute positively to a supportive team environment, working effectively with systems such as IPM and Medchart. This is an exciting opportunity for a confident and adaptable clinician with strong verbal and written communication, negotiation, and critical thinking skills.


Key Responsibilities:

* Engage with young people, carers, and service providers via telephone/virtual care.
* Assess and treat young people 0 – 17 years of age and their families/carers who are living in the HNE Local Health District (LHD).
* Work effectively within an experienced multi-disciplinary team.


Requirements:

* Must hold a qualification in one of the following: Occupational Therapy, Nursing, Social Work, Counsellor (Degree in Bachelor of Health Science Mental health).
* For appointment at Clinical Nurse Specialist Grade 2: relevant post-registration qualifications and at least 3 years' experience working in the clinical area of their specified post-graduate qualification.
