The opportunity
The City of Mandurah is seeking enthusiastic and motivated Sports and Activities Assistant to support the delivery of a range of children's and family programs. This role is ideal for energetic individuals who enjoy working with children and engaging with the community in a fun, active environment.
As a Sports and Activities Assistant, you will support Program Instructors across a variety of activities and special programs and events, including gymnastics programs, birthday parties, program wind‐ups and rollerdiscos.
You will play a key role in creating a safe, welcoming, and enjoyable experience for all participants while always delivering high‐quality customer service.
Role details
* Casual (hourly rate inclusive of 20% Casualloading)
* Level 1-2 at $23.38 - $39.09 per hour dependant on age and experience

Responsibilities
* Assist Program Instructors with the delivery of programs and events
* Provide a safe, effective and enjoyable class and event environment
* Assist with the setup and pack up of equipment, spaces and resources for programs, activities and events in accordance with established procedures
* Encourage positive participation from children and parents
* Demonstrate and assist with program activities and equipment use
* Supervise groups or individuals during activities
* Monitor participant abilities and provide appropriate support
* Provide safety advice to minimise risk and respond to incidents as required
* Deliver excellent customer service and present a positive, professional image
* Render first aid when required
* Comply with all City of Mandurah policies, procedures, and Code of Conduct
Qualifications
* A good level of physical fitness
* Previous experience in the provision of children's or adult's leisure, sport and recreation activities and programs is desirable, however no previous experience is required for Level 1
* Availability to work split shifts morning / afternoons
* A passion for working and engaging with children aged up to 12 years
* Organisational and time management skills
* Current National Police Clearance (or willing to obtain)
* Current Working with Children Check (or willing to obtain)
* Senior First Aid Certificate
