Seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized individual to join our team as a Design Coordinator. As a pivotal member of our design and construction teams, you will be responsible for bridging design and delivery by ensuring constructability, compliance, and coordination across major construction packages.
This role is ideal for a qualified civil or structural engineer with a strong background in design development and construction interfaces. You will drive constructability reviews, manage temporary works designs, supervise shop drawings, and coordinate as-built documentation.
Key responsibilities include:
* Coordinating design development with construction requirements across all disciplines
* Participating in both design and construction progress meetings
* Reviewing design deliverables for constructability and quality
* Managing temporary works design and delegating site inspections
* Supervising and reviewing production of shop drawings
* Centralizing field change requests and managing as-built documentation
* Leading Safety in Design initiatives and contributing to a Zero Harm culture
* Ensuring quality, compliance, and project management processes are upheld across delivery
Requirements for this role include:
* Tertiary qualification in Civil or Structural Engineering
* Minimum 5 years' experience in design coordination or similar roles on infrastructure projects
* Strong knowledge of design development and construction interfaces
* Experience managing multidisciplinary teams and external stakeholders
* Skills in drawing and document review, temporary works, and design change management
* Excellent communication and organization skills, with resilience under pressure
* Proficiency in document management systems such as SharePoint
