It is responsible for representing The Salvation Army to government, media, and the wider community, while also providing corps with essential communications support across day-to-day operations and peak periods. The department’s primary goal is to build awareness, trust, and engagement with the community, donors, partners, media, and government.As the **External Communications Office Coordinator**, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth and effective operation of the External Communications function in Tasmania.The role is **permanent, full time** position based at our **Hobart** office.# **Key responsibilities*** Providing high-level administrative support to the External Communications Manager, including managing calendars, travel, correspondence, meeting minutes and documentation.* Supporting the planning and end-to-end delivery of events such as community outreach activities, fundraising campaigns, internal workshops, and media events.* Developing and implementing a state-based social media content plan in collaboration with the National Social Media Team, managing posts, monitoring engagement, and responding to enquiries.* Coordinating stakeholder engagement, including liaising with media, government representatives, community partners, and internal teams.* Managing finance and office administration tasks, including raising invoices, expense reconciliation, maintaining promotional materials, and coordinating internal communications with local Corps and teams.# **About You**You’re someone who thrives in a busy, purpose-driven environment and takes pride in keeping things running smoothly behind the scenes.
