Laboratory Supervisor
About the Role
JBS Dinmore is seeking a motivated and experienced Laboratory Supervisor to lead our on-site laboratory team. This role is responsible for ensuring all laboratory testing, reporting and compliance activities meet regulatory, quality assurance and company standards.
Reporting to the Quality Assurance Manager, the Laboratory Supervisor will oversee daily laboratory operations, manage a team of technicians and ensure accurate and timely testing to support production and food safety requirements.
Your daily responsibilities will include:
* Supervise the daily operations of the site laboratory and laboratory technicians
* Ensure all microbiological, chemical, and environmental testing is conducted accurately and in accordance with required standards
* Maintain compliance with food safety, regulatory, and company quality systems
* Review and validate laboratory results and reports
* Manage sample collection, testing schedules, and documentation
* Maintain laboratory equipment, calibration, and inventory of consumables
* Provide training, guidance, and support to laboratory staff
* Investigate non-conformances and assist with corrective actions
* Work closely with production, QA, and site leadership teams to support operational outcomes
* Ensure adherence to workplace health and safety standards within the laboratory
About You
* Previous experience working in a laboratory environment, preferably within the food or meat processing industry
* Demonstrated leadership or supervisory experience
* Relevant qualification in microbiology, food science, chemistry, or a related field
* Strong understanding of food safety systems and laboratory quality standards
* Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills
* Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities
* Effective communication and team leadership skills
