Shalimar Mooloolaba, a renowned Indian restaurant in the heart of the Sunshine Coast, is seeking an experienced and passionate Indian Cuisine Chef to join our talented kitchen team. Key Responsibilities:
* Prepare and cook a variety of authentic Indian dishes, including curries, tandoori, biryanis, and desserts.
* Ensure consistency and quality in food preparation and presentation.
* Collaborate with kitchen staff to maintain a clean, safe, and efficient kitchen environment.
* Manage kitchen inventory and assist with ordering ingredients.
* Stay up-to-date with current trends in Indian cuisine and suggest innovative ideas to enhance the menu.
* Oversee food safety and hygiene standards in line with Australian regulations.
* Train and mentor junior kitchen staff as needed.
Requirements:
* Proven experience as a chef, preferably with a focus on Indian cuisine.
* Strong knowledge of Indian spices, ingredients, and cooking techniques.
* Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
* Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
* High level of attention to detail, particularly in food presentation and cleanliness.
* Ability to manage time effectively and handle multiple tasks.
* Minimum of at least1 year of experience.
* Relevant qualifications (minimum of Certificate IVin Cookery or equivalent.
* Salary - $76,000 to $82,000 plus super.
