As a key member of our finance team, you will be responsible for managing accounting, payroll, and statutory obligations.
The Role
* You will work closely with directors and team members across accounts, admin, and project departments to ensure the smooth operation of financial functions.
* Key responsibilities include preparing and issuing customer invoices and claims, tracking project progress, liaising with internal teams, monitoring and following up on overdue payments, maintaining customer records, and assisting with credit applications.
* Payscale administration involves processing weekly payrolls in Xero, maintaining employee records, ensuring payroll compliance, processing PAYG, payroll tax, and superannuation payments and lodgments, supporting management with payroll reports and queries.
* General accounting and statutory obligations involve preparing BAS, payroll tax, LSL contributions, and superannuation submissions, performing bank and account reconciliations, maintaining and updating project costings, providing support to the Accounts Manager and Directors as required, identifying and implementing process changes.
* Timely completion of month-end tasks and accounting adjustments, balance sheet reconciliations, monthly reporting and financial analysis, assist with budgeting, and financial analysis for management.
Requirements
* Proven experience in financial accounting, management reporting, payroll, and statutory obligations.
* Strong knowledge of Xero (or similar accounting software).
* Degree in business, commerce, or accounting (preferred but not required).
* Excellent attention to detail and time management.
* Ability to work independently and prioritize competing tasks.
* Confident communication skills and a proactive, solutions-focused mindset.
