We are seeking a highly organised and detail-oriented Procurement Coordinator to join our team and support the smooth and efficient functioning of our procurement operations.
In this role, you will play a key part in ensuring the timely and cost-effective acquisition of goods and services by providing administrative support, maintaining accurate records, liaising with suppliers, and ensuring compliance with procurement policies and procedures.
About the Company:
Founded in 1945, Mackays Group is recognised as Australia’s leading banana grower. What began with one man and one paddock has now expanded to a multi-generational farming operation producing bananas, papayas, sugarcane, coffee, cattle, and cacao. With over 550 staff across nine locations from Cooktown to Brisbane, the company continues to grow and diversify, including expanding into the ripening and processing of produce.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Processing purchase orders and maintaining accurate procurement records.
2. Communicating with suppliers to confirm order details and delivery schedules.
3. Monitoring deliveries and following up on any delays or discrepancies.
4. Supporting invoice reconciliation and liaising with the finance team for payment processing.
5. Assisting with receiving and dispatching of goods.
6. Providing administrative support, including data entry and document management.
7. Performing general office duties such as filing, email correspondence, and report preparation.
8. Ensuring adherence to procurement policies and procedures.
9. Identifying opportunities for cost savings and process improvements.

About You:
1. Strong attention to detail and excellent organisational skills.
2. A diploma or certificate in Business Administration, Procurement, or a related field is advantageous but not essential.
3. Previous experience in an administrative or procurement support role is a plus.
4. Effective written and verbal communication skills.
5. Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritise workload effectively.
6. Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
7. Manual Driver's License
