About the Opportunity
The Collection Storage and Logistics Technician (BOSS) reports to the Collection Storage Manager and collaborates with other Collection Access Branch staff and stakeholders to ensure the delivery of Library services. The role supports collection storage, shelving and retrieval processes, maintaining collection items so they can be easily located by staff and improving collection logistics workflows to uphold best practice service standards.
Work is part‐time (0.8FTE) and fixed‐term, ending on 30 January 2026. Shifts run from 10:00am to 6:00pm, lasting 6.46hours (including an unpaid meal break). Rostered work days are Monday to Thursday and alternate Sundays, with start and finish times scheduled to cover the 10:00–6:00pm window.
Key Responsibilities
* Support the delivery of collection materials within agreed standards.
* Process collection material to support usage and contribute to the improvement of collection logistics workflows.
* Engage with retrieval activities at the Ballarat site and work as part of a small team.
* Ensure collection items are stored and maintained for easy location by staff.
* Prioritise work tasks to deliver quality outcomes within agreed timeframes.
About You
* Demonstrated experience and understanding of collection retrieval and reshelving.
* Understanding of library collection logistics and library circulation systems.
* Capability to prioritise work tasks to deliver quality outcomes within agreed timeframes.
* Experience handling heritage and general collection items (highly desirable).
* Qualifications in Library, Museum Studies or a similar field (desirable).
