We are seeking an experienced Clinical Practitioner to join a multidisciplinary mental health team delivering high-quality, recovery-oriented services to individuals experiencing mental health and co-occurring alcohol and other drug (AOD) concerns.
This is a 6-month fixed term position, with a strong opportunity for extension, ideal for a clinician who enjoys intake, assessment, counselling and coordinated care.
About the Role
As a Clinical Practitioner, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality mental health intake, assessment, intervention and referral services. You will work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team and support individuals, families and carers using a stepped model of care.
The role also includes participation in a weekend therapeutic consultation roster as required.
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver holistic mental health intake, assessment, counselling and brief interventions
* Provide evidence-based therapeutic interventions in a recovery-oriented context
* Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to support coordinated care
* Participate in multidisciplinary case reviews and clinical reflections
* Deliver case management, referrals and group facilitation as required
* Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation, case notes and reports
* Build strong relationships with mental health, AOD, primary health and community services
* Support governance, quality assurance, WHS and compliance requirements
* Contribute to planning, performance monitoring and reporting activities
* Represent the service at community and interagency forums when required
About You
You are a motivated and resilient clinician who:
* Has a background in Psychology, Mental Health Nursing or Social Work
* Is confident working in complex and fast-paced service environments
* Applies trauma-informed, person-centred and recovery-oriented practice
* Communicates effectively and works well within multidisciplinary teams
* Takes ownership of clinical decisions and outcomes
* Is comfortable working autonomously and collaboratively
Essential Criteria
* Tertiary qualification in Psychology, Mental Health Nursing or Social Work
* Current AHPRA registration or relevant professional registration (e.g. AASW)
* Minimum 2 years' experience in Mental Health and/or AOD counselling
* Demonstrated experience delivering evidence-based therapeutic interventions
* Experience participating in multidisciplinary case reviews
* Strong relationship-building, negotiation and stakeholder engagement skills
* Experience with clinical governance, quality assurance and risk management
* Current National Police Check and Working With Children Check

* $60.30 per hour (SCHCADS Award Level 7)
* Full-time hours with standard business hours and occasional extended hours
* Combination of office-based and community work
* Travel across locations may be required
