We have an exciting opportunity for a Production Services Team Leader to join the Cement Australia team in Gladstone.
Lead and support the Production Services team to deliver safe, efficient, and high-quality manufacturing support operations. This includes mobile equipment use, site housekeeping, and workflow coordination. Work closely with the Production and Maintenance teams to optimise performance, manage costs, and meet production targets. Anticipate workforce needs and foster a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence.
Your Opportunity
As the Production Services Team Leader, some of your duties will include:
* Lead and manage the Production Services team, ensuring safety, wellbeing, and compliance with site policies.
* Maintain high standards of housekeeping and environmental management.
* Promote a proactive safety culture ensuring all risk assessments and work instructions are in place and address non-compliance effectively.
* Plan, allocate, and coordinate labour, materials, and equipment for efficient operations.
* Assign and oversee daily tasks, ensuring project and site priorities are met.
* Lead site cleanup, maintenance support, and shutdown-related activities.
* Respond to operational disruptions by deploying team resources efficiently.
* Manage contractor engagement, cost control, and basic financial reporting.
* Develop team skills through coaching, training, and performance management.
* Foster positive workforce culture, managing leave, timekeeping, and coverage to meet operational needs.
This role is Monday to Friday, day shift (5:30am – 2:00pm). Flexibility for overtime during peak periods and scheduled shutdowns is expected to support operational requirements.
What You'll Bring
* 5+ years' supervisory or leadership experience, ideally in manufacturing, heavy industry, or cementitious operations.
* Previous leading hand or team leader experience
* Certificate III in Warehousing Operations (desirable)
* Strong safety focus with thorough understanding of SHEQ principles and compliance requirements.
* Proven ability to coach, mentor, and motivate a team to achieve operational goals.
* Demonstrated problem-solving and sound decision-making skills in operational contexts.
* Experience managing contractors, production scheduling, maintenance planning, or procurement (desirable).
* Financial management experience, including budgeting, cost control, and reporting.
* Ability to plan, allocate, and coordinate labour, materials, and equipment efficiently.
* Proficiency in SAP, Microsoft Office Suite and computer skills.
* Experience with isolations and permit-to-work systems.
* Commitment to driving operational efficiency, continuous improvement, and high team performance.
