Payroll Delivery Manager
We have a newly created position at Marsh for an experienced payroll professional to join either Melbourne or Sydney. This hybrid role requires working at least three days a week in the office.
This role will leverage your regulatory knowledge, payroll operations experience, analytical skills and interpersonal abilities to drive the implementation and upkeep of payroll compliance across the Pacific Region (Australia, New Zealand).
Responsibilities
* Ensure overall payroll compliance within the regulatory framework.
* Implement and document appropriate control and audit processes, including development of necessary payroll reports.
* Examine payroll processes to ensure they are up-to-date, legally compliant, and meet industry standards for wages, pay rates and tax withholdings.
* Analyse the systems, processes and structures of the existing payroll administration to identify errors and deficiencies and recommend procedural changes.
* Communicate with business stakeholders and HR managers to understand and manage payroll issues and concerns, and help implement payroll changes when required.
* Work closely with the payroll operations team based in India to drive improvements and implement recommendations in response to legislation changes.
* Collaborate with the payroll provider to ensure they meet SLA requirements and deliver quality services in line with our needs.
* Provide assurance that the payroll setup is in line with statutory requirements and applicable awards.
* Ensure reconciliations are completed and checked.
* Complete accurate and timely filings.
* Be accountable for liaison with local authorities such as the ATO.
What you need to have
* Extensive experience in end-to-end payroll operations and/or payroll auditing.
* Strong knowledge of payroll tax regulatory requirements.
* Experience interpreting multiple industrial pay conditions.
* Ability to interpret relevant legislation, awards and compliance requirements.
* Capability to think independently, suggest improvements, analyse and interpret payroll data, identify and mitigate risk, and advocate change when necessary.
* Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills.
