About your role
QAL has an exciting opportunity for an Apprentice & Trade Training Officer to join our Human Resources Department. Reporting directly to the Apprentice & Trade Coordinator, you will contribute to our Safe, Stable and Sustainable vision by:
* Identifying, prioritising and implementing training plans to support and build capabilities in both the mechanical and electrical trades teams
* Working with the RTO and Apprentices to ensure they are trained and assessed as competent to carry out their work within the desired timeframes
* Ensuring appropriate documentation, procedures and training materials are developed and used as a guide to support and train the apprentices throughout the program
* Monitoring logbook entries and training plan progression to ensure apprentice schedules are met for each stage of their qualification
* Ensuring stakeholders on site are providing the appropriate training, mentoring and supervision to apprentices throughout rotations across the different work areas
* Mentoring and providing guidance to apprentices
What you will bring
To be successfully considered for this role, you should have:
* A commitment to the safety of yourself and your team
* Mechanical Trade Qualification
* Certificate IV in Workplace Training & Assessing would be highly regarded or previous demonstrated experience in conducting group training
* Experience with SAP and MS software products would be advantageous
* Strong communication, interpersonal and organisational skills
