Overview
As a Residential Support Worker, you will work with other staff to carry out the day to day, routine and upkeep of the Bail house. You will work with young people to build rapport based on trust and respect, and help work to develop goals and strategies to manage their wellbeing. You will respond to mental health concerns and behaviour in a non-judgmental and compassionate manner.
Hours
This service is a 24-hour facility so the successful candidate will be required to work during the evening as well as during the days.
Requirements / Experience
Ideally, you will have experience in working with vulnerable young people and knowledge of the issues impacting young people in the Youth Justice system. This understanding will give you the ability to navigate difficult behavioural situations. You will show commitment to HOPE's vision, mission and values and understand how to work respectfully and in a culturally secure way with Aboriginal communities and individuals. It is desirable to be working towards a Certificate IV in Youth, Mental Health, and/ or Community Services with some experience.
