About the Position:
The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing mechanical systems, components, and products using computer-aided design software. This includes designing machinery and equipment used in the recycling process.
In addition to this, the Mechanical Engineer will be expected to conduct research to develop new products or improve existing ones. This involves staying updated with the latest technologies and innovations in plastics recycling.
Furthermore, the role requires performing simulations and testing to validate designs and ensure they meet performance criteria. This includes analysing mechanical systems for reliability, durability, and efficiency.
The Mechanical Engineer will also be responsible for identifying and solving engineering problems using analytical methods and tools. This includes conducting failure analysis and implementing corrective actions.
Maintenance operations will be overseen by the engineer, including the maintenance of electrical systems, forklifts, skid-steer loaders, and other mechanical equipment. Supervising a team of maintenance technicians is also an essential part of the role.
The position requires close collaboration with testing and quality assurance teams to ensure designs meet performance and safety standards. Providing training and technical support to production personnel is also necessary.
Achieving accurate documentation of manufacturing processes, including process flow diagrams, standard operating procedures, and work instructions, is crucial for the success of the engineer.
Effective communication with team members and stakeholders is vital to ensure alignment on design goals and requirements.
