Family Support Specialist
The successful candidate will have a key role in providing support and advocacy to families who are experiencing difficulties related to problematic and harmful sexual behaviours in children and young people.
* Key Responsibilities:
* Provide tailored support and advocacy to families, using a strengths-based and trauma-informed approach.
* Conduct comprehensive assessments to develop, implement, and review safety and support plans that address both strengths and areas of risk.
* Coordinate wrap-around support by working closely with government departments, schools, health services, and community agencies to raise awareness and deliver integrated services.
* Build strong, culturally safe relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander and Culturally and Linguistically Diverse clients and communities to ensure inclusive and respectful practice.
* Identify and respond to risks, including escalating concerns and making reports where necessary using a cultural safe lens.

Requirements
* Qualifications:
* Tertiary qualification in social work, psychology, human services, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
* Skills and Experience:
* Strong understanding of problematic and harmful sexual behaviours in children and young people, including associated risks and vulnerabilities.
* Demonstrated experience supporting families, particularly in child protection or similar settings.
* Excellent communication, assessment, and case planning skills, with a strengths-based and trauma-informed approach.
* Cultural competence and experience working respectfully with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities and other diverse groups.
* Current driver's license.
