**About the role**:
The EL1 Assistant Director is an important team leadership position within the Agency and will have delegated authority and responsibility to resolve issues and risks across wide-ranging activities of substantial depth involving significant detail. The role requires providing leadership, control, planning, resource management, performance management and decision making for the Team Membership and assigned Contractors working within the Work Area.
The position is required to coordinate and assume responsibility to undertake detailed or sensitive projects that may include performing varied activities involving many different and unrelated processes or methods that may impact on the strategic or operational outcomes that support the Agency's objectives.
The EL1 Assistant Director is responsible for actively managing key internal and external stakeholder relationships and where required will represent and negotiate on behalf of the Agency to advance the Agency's interests across a range of forums.
**Key responsibilities**:
- Planning and deploying branch activities, communicating and educating key stakeholders on program vision and deliverables.
- Developing branch activities and reporting progress and outcomes to the executive.
- Attending and co-facilitating engagement meetings, reference groups and other consultations and assisting in documentation and write ups.
- Integrating learning and advice from stakeholders into future engagement activities.
- Supporting the development of internal and external communication materials.
- Liaising with relevant business areas to determine their engagement needs and supporting the development of engagement plans.
- Escalating reputational risks associated with engagement and communication activities.
