Economic Strategy (ES) branch within the Department of Premier and Cabinet (DPC) is seeking talented and highly motivated Policy Officers to join the team. We currently have 2 positions available.
ES Branch plays a vital role in driving the government's economic recovery and reform agenda. It contributes to the development of innovative and impactful economic policies that create a more prosperous and inclusive Victoria.
As the Policy Officer, you will provide authoritative advice on the policy and strategic implications of a variety of economic initiatives relating to taxation, housing, finance, regulation, competition, gambling, consumer affairs, workplace safety and local government.
The role requires the ability to provide economic policy advice to inform the development of policies and programs, as well as strong written communication skills and the ability to influence through the preparation of timely and evidence-informed recommendations in a fast-paced environment.
About you

- Demonstrated strong conceptual and analytical skills, an eye for detail and proactiveness.
- Highly developed written communication skills.
- Effective interpersonal and negotiation skills with an ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
- Ability to collaborate and support others in the pursuit of common goals.

Other relevant information
The department is committed to providing and maintaining a working environment which is safe and without risk consistent with the department's obligations under the Occupational Health and Safety Act 2004 (OH&S Act). Therefore, there is a requirement that all DPC employees be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 in order to undertake duties outside of their homes (unless an exception applies).
To meet its obligations under the COVID-19 Mandatory Vaccination (Workers) Directions and the OH&S Act, the department will request vaccination information or evidence of an exemption in the pre-employment stage. Inability to provide this may impact your subsequent employment to the department.
