Are you a talented diesel technician with a passion for diagnostics and supporting others?
Are you ready to share your expertise at a broader group level, outside the workshop environment?
Emmetts is seeking a Technical Communicator to join our centralised technical support team — a key role providing advanced, remote diagnostic support across our entire dealership network.
This centralised technical support role will see you working remotely, acting as the central link between our service teams, management, and John Deere's Dealer Technical Assistance Centre (DTAC) — ensuring fast, accurate diagnosis and resolution of complex machinery issues to minimise customer downtime.
What You'll Do Provide advanced remote technical support to technicians across multiple branches.
Liaise directly with John Deere DTAC to resolve complex diagnostic cases.
Use John Deere tools like Service ADVISORTM Remote, RDA, and Expert Connect to perform remote diagnostics and proactive issue detection.
Monitor, distribute, and track Expert Alerts and JDLinkTM Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) to swiftly identify equipment issues and minimise machine downtime.
Analyse machine data and proactively initiate service interventions when needed.
Share technical knowledge, best practices, and training across the network.
Support process improvement and continuous development of technical capability.
What You'll Bring Trade qualification as a Diesel Mechanic (Cert III Heavy Diesel).
3+ years' experience in machinery diagnostics and repair.
Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills — John Deere experience highly regarded.
Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Competence with Microsoft Office and diagnostic software tools.
