Employment Details
* Employer: Barossa Hills Fleurieu Local Health Network – various locations in the region
* Contract Length: Temporary Part‐Time up to 15 months (more than one position available)
* Salary: $1,106.10 – $1,117.60 per week (pro‐rata) – WHD3
* Schedule: Four days per week on site, with one study day every fortnight; 7‐day roster, 7.6 hours per day; total 7.6 hours per week.
Program Overview
The Direct Care Worker Cadetship Program is a paid on‐the‐job training initiative that supports you to complete the CHC33021 Certificate III in Individual Support – Ageing. You will gain practical experience while working with experienced professionals and develop the skills needed to support older people.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide high‐quality, respectful care and support to residents across diverse aged care settings.
* Work collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team to deliver personalised care that improves wellbeing.
* Maintain confidentiality and build trusting relationships with residents and their families.
* Assist with daily living tasks, personal care, medication assistance, and basic health monitoring as directed.
* Participate in continuous professional development and attestation of learnt skills.
Qualifications and Essentials
* Pass all required immunisations; proof upon commencement.
* Undergo satisfactory employment screening as outlined in the role description.
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with empathy and cultural sensitivity.
* Ability to manage multiple tasks safely and efficiently.
* Willingness to learn and use initiative to problem‐solve without judgement.
Training & Development
* Full support to complete CHC33021 Certificate III in Individual Support – Ageing (and/or Disability) through an approved Registered Training Organisation.

Location Options
The network covers 11 public hospitals and 6 aged care facilities across Barossa Hills Fleurieu region, including Mount Pleasant, Kapunda, Gumeracha, Eudunda, Strathalbyn and Kangaroo Island. Location preferences will be considered during scheduling.
