Mental Health Specialist
Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Mental Health Specialist to join our multidisciplinary team in regional NSW. This is a fantastic opportunity to provide evidence-based, trauma-informed mental health care for children, adolescents, and young adults.
Key Responsibilities
* Perform acute and routine mental health assessments for individuals aged 0-25
* Deliver individual, group, and family interventions, both therapeutic and pharmacological
* Support safety planning, care coordination, and recovery-oriented treatment
* Liaise with families, carers, and external service providers to provide holistic care
* Participate in a 7-day rotating roster (including afternoon shifts)
* Actively contribute to service improvement initiatives and clinical supervision
Required Skills and Qualifications
To succeed in this role, you will ideally have:
* At least 2 years of post-registration experience in mental health or child/youth services
* Qualifications and registration in one of the following: Nursing (Div 1 with MH postgrad), Occupational Therapy, Psychology, Social Work
* Demonstrated knowledge of the Mental Health and Wellbeing Act 2022, and other relevant standards and frameworks
* Strong clinical assessment, crisis management, and documentation skills
* Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team and autonomously
* Current driver's licence and relevant clearances for working with children
