About the role
Orthopaedic Surgeon – part time fixed term – with Latrobe Regional Health (LRH) in the Gippsland Region.
Responsibilities
* Provide specialist orthopaedic services within credentialed privileges, including routine and emergency care and participation in on‐call duties.
* Deliver best‐practice person‐centred care informed by current professional knowledge, evidence‐based guidelines and organisational resources.
* Provide clinical leadership, supervision and teaching for registrars, junior medical staff and medical students.
* Work collaboratively with medical, surgical, anaesthetic, nursing, allied health and emergency services to ensure integrated and effective patient care.
* Participate in clinical audits, quality assurance activities, morbidity and mortality reviews and other improvement initiatives to meet accreditation standards.
* Contribute to strategic service development, promote clinical research, and maintain professional standards including ongoing skills development and College maintenance requirements.
About you
* Medical qualification eligible for specialist registration with AHPRA, and Fellowship with the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (FRACS).
* Demonstrated clinical expertise commensurate with that expected of an Orthopaedic Surgeon, including confidence managing complex and emergent presentations.
* Significant experience working at a senior level within a major hospital or health service environment.
* A strong commitment to clinical governance, quality improvement, peer review and patient safety.
