The University of Canberra is seeking two motivated, reliable and student-focused Student Support Advisors to join the Ngunnawal Centre to play a key part in supporting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students throughout their academic journey, helping them build confidence, independence and success in their chosen disciplines. Working closely with students, colleagues and community stakeholders, you will provide proactive support, foster engagement, strengthen retention initiatives and contribute to programs that empower Indigenous students to become independent learners and future leaders.
Key Responsibilities
* Build and maintain positive relationships with students, staff and community stakeholders.
* Represent the Ngunnawal Centre at University and community events, including Open Day, Career Expos and outreach activities.
* Support Indigenous student engagement, retention and academic success.
* Engage with students through a variety of channels, including face-to-face, phone, email and social media.
* Coordinate and promote opportunities such as scholarships, awards and support services.
* Contribute to a welcoming, culturally safe and supportive environment for students.

You are a consistent, dependable and highly organised professional who is passionate about student success. You enjoy building meaningful relationships and take pride in delivering exceptional support and service.
Note: this position requires a deep understanding of issues relating to and affecting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander People, and the ability to communicate sensitively and effectively.
