ABOUT THE BUSINESS
Continental Cake Shop is a well-established bakery known for delivering high-quality cakes,
pastries, and desserts. We pride ourselves on craftsmanship, consistency, and customer
satisfaction. We are now seeking an experienced and passionate Cake & Pastry Baker to join our
growing team.
POSITION OVERVIEW
The Cake & Pastry Baker will be responsible for preparing, baking, decorating, and presenting a
wide range of cakes, pastries, and desserts while maintaining the highest standards of quality,
hygiene, and efficiency.
KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
* Prepare, bake, and finish cakes, pastries, and desserts
* Decorate cakes for special occasions
* Follow standard recipes and production schedules
* Prepare fillings, icings, glazes, and creams
* Monitor oven temperatures and baking times
* Maintain high standards of hygiene and food safety (HACCP)
* Store ingredients and finished products correctly
* Monitor stock levels and reduce wastage
* Assist with ordering supplies
* Work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
* Maintain a clean and safe work area
SKILLS, EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED
* Minimum 1 year of relevant experience in a commercial bakery
* Relevant formal qualifications in Baking or Patisserie (Certificate III or higher)
* Strong knowledge of baking and cake decoration techniques
* Ability to work early mornings, weekends, and public holidays
* Excellent time management and attention to detail
* Ability to work independently and in a team
* Sound understanding of food safety and hygiene practices
