About the Role
We are seeking a professional, patient focused and organised Medical Secretary to join our small, modern specialist practice in Merewether. Supporting both a Rehabilitation Physician and an Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Surgeon, this is a casual position that may potentially progress to permanent part-time or full-time employment.
You will be working within a supportive and collaborative practice environment, where professionalism, efficiency and patient-centred care are highly valued. This role would suit someone who enjoys working in a small specialist practice and is looking for stability, development and a long-term opportunity.
Key details:
* Flexible hours and days (Monday to Friday)
* 2 to 5 days per week
* Availability to cover annual and sick leave as required
* Training provided for suitable candidates, including those new to medical administration
Remuneration
* Above award wages offered
* Pay rate dependent on experience
Key Responsibilities
Training will be provided as required. Responsibilities include:
* Front desk reception and patient liaison
* Appointment scheduling and diary management
* Managing incoming calls, emails and correspondence
* General administrative and practice support duties
About You
We are looking for someone who is:
* Able to quickly build relationships: You can build rapport with patients, clients and stakeholders of all ages and backgrounds.
* An excellent communicator: Confident liaising with patients, clients and stakeholders in person, by phone and email in an engaging and professional manner.
* Organised and detail-oriented: Diligent with exceptional time management and organisational skills and an understanding of privacy and confidentiality requirements.
* Technically capable: You will be trained to use Outlook, Microsoft Office, booking systems, and a keen willingness to learn practice-specific software
* Customer service focused: With a positive attitude and willingness to learn
* Experience: Previous experience is helpful, though not required. We will provide training.
Previous experience in medical administration or a small medical/surgical practice is highly regarded but not essential. Comprehensive training will be provided for the right candidate.
