Longridge is a private 'not-for-profit' community organisation owned by the Naracoorte and Districts community.
It was established in 1969 by the Naracoorte community to provide accommodation and services for any retired aged or disabled person.
About the Role:
As a Personal Care Assistant, you will make a positive contribution to the daily lives of our Residents. You will assist in their personal care, well being and emotional support. At Longridge we understand that work/life balance is important, and you will need the flexibility to work across various shifts (mornings, afternoons and nights).
Duties and Responsibilities:
* Day-to-day management of residents care needs
* Responsible for maintaining the basic cleanliness & tidiness of resident's
* rooms & bathrooms daily.
* Responsible for the safe & effective management of resident's medication needs
* Assist in the orientation & training of fellow carers as they join the care team.
* Participate in organisational wide staff development by awareness of current staff skills & identifying education / training deficits.
* Promote the independence of Residents by empowering them through the provision of choices in their daily living activities.
Skills and Qualifications:
* Certificate III in Individual Support / Certificate III Aged Care or similar qualification essential;
* 1 year of relevant work experience required for this role
* Ability to use clinical management software such as Lee Care and Medimap is a plus;
* Ability to work within a team;
* An understanding of Aged Care and resident rights and responsibilities
