Administration Assistant (Full-Time / Part-Time)

Cloncurry Shire Council is looking for an Administration Assistant to join our Corporate Services team. This role provides essential support across administration and finance functions, ensuring professional and efficient service to both internal and external stakeholders. What We Offer:

* Competitive salary aligned with the QLD Local Government Industry (Stream A) Award (Level 2-3) $63,000 to $73,000 per annum, depending on qualifications/experience)
* Flexible work options – Full-time (72.5 hours/fortnight) or Part-time (45 hours/fortnight)

What You Will Do:

* Be the first point of contact for customers, clients, and visitors, delivering high-quality customer service
* Respond to enquiries via phone, in person, and digital platforms, ensuring timely and professional assistance
* Process applications, payments, and reconciliations in line with established procedures
* Support administrative tasks across finance, records management, and Council programs
* Maintain customer information resources and ensure reception and public areas are well-organised
* Handle facility key distribution and security
* Process dog registrations, waste management requests, cemetery applications, and other Council services
* Assist with Council website updates and digital content to ensure accuracy of information
* Perform data entry, typing, and general office tasks as required

What We Are Looking For:

* Previous experience in administration and customer service (Receptionist experience preferred)
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills
* High-level organisation, problem-solving, and multitasking abilities
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
* Cash handling and reconciliation experience
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team
* Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and professionalism

Qualifications & Licences Required:

Mandatory:

* Completion of Year 10
* Police Clearance
* High-level verbal and written communication skills
* Strong understanding of Workplace Health & Safety practices

Desirable:

* Certificate III in Business Administration (or similar qualification)
* Current unrestricted driver's licence
* Previous local government experience
