Overview
The Team: Occupational Therapy Services at Hospitals North West provide high-quality, client-centred occupational therapy to inpatients, outpatients and community clients across the North West region of Tasmania. The team works as part of a multidisciplinary healthcare environment, supporting consumers across medical, surgical, rehabilitation and orthopaedic services, as well as paediatrics and community-based programs. As part of the Department of Health, the service is committed to delivering safe, inclusive and evidence-based care to improve outcomes for individuals, families and the broader Tasmanian community. Role
This role would suit a new graduate or an experienced Occupational Therapist, offering a supported development program within Occupational Therapy Services. You will have the opportunity to rotate across a range of service areas, building clinical capability through a diverse caseload and a strong community focus. The position offers structured supervision and professional support, making it ideal for clinicians early in their career, while also providing scope for experienced therapists to further develop and diversify their skills.
Responsibilities
* Deliver Occupational Therapy assessments and interventions for inpatients, outpatients and community clients across a rotating caseload
* Work collaboratively with senior occupational therapists and multidisciplinary team members to achieve positive client outcomes
* Participate in professional development, quality improvement initiatives and service planning activities in line with departmental priorities
You will need
* A commitment to delivering person-centred, safe and culturally responsive care
* Demonstrated knowledge of, or a strong foundation in, contemporary Occupational Therapy theory and the ability to apply this in hospital, outpatient and community settings
* Well-developed verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team
Eligibility and Selection
* Tertiary qualification/program of study approved by the Occupational Board of Australia
* Registered with the Occupational Therapy Board of Australia
* Current Working with Children Registration
* Desirable: Current Driver's Licence
* Desirable: Post-graduate qualifications relevant to the delivery of Occupational Therapy Services
Salary and benefits
Salary: $73,834 to $111,364 per annum (Pro rata). Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount. Salary packaging is available with a range of benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 and meal entertainment up to $2,650 per FBT year, plus other eligible benefits. The following allowances may be available: Professional Development Allowance up to $1,000 per annum. Eligible candidates may also receive travel and relocation assistance and a range of leave entitlements, including study leave and Professional Development Support. Fitness Passport is available for employees and their family at a subsidised rate.

Details of appointment: Permanent, part time, day worker position, 53.2 hours per fortnight, commencing ASAP. Hours negotiable with the successful applicant. Additional hours may be available on a fixed-term basis, depending on service needs.
