Senior Rail Mounted Machine Engineer
We are seeking an experienced Senior Rail Mounted Machine Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our engineering group, you will play a critical role in designing and developing rail mounted machines for the materials handling industry.
Your primary responsibility will be to conduct field investigations and client interviews to determine work scope and cost estimates for civil/structural aspects of rail mounted machines. You will also plan, schedule, conduct, or coordinate detailed phases of civil/structural engineering, including design layouts, details, drawings, and specifications for structures, buildings, roadways, railroads, etc.
Key Responsibilities:
* Civil/Structural Design: Plan, schedule, conduct, or coordinate detailed phases of civil/structural engineering, including design layouts, details, drawings, and specifications for structures, buildings, roadways, railroads, etc.
* Design Development: Design, develop, modify, and evaluate Civil/Structural components and processes utilizing relevant Engineering Department Procedures
* Advanced Knowledge: Designs structures using advanced knowledge of structural analysis, including statics, dynamics, and materials engineering
* Standard Application: Specific knowledge of the design, supply, and installation processes for rail mounted stockyard machines, and particular knowledge of the application of the standard: AS4324 - MOBILE EQUIPMENT FOR CONTINUOUS HANDLING OF BULK MATERIALS
* Material Selection: Determines the appropriate use of various structural elements such as steel, wood, masonry, and concrete to ensure appropriate material is used based on load or stress requirements
* Deliverables Origination: Originates and checks complex structural engineering deliverables, such as steel and concrete calculations, specifications, and material requisitions
Requirements:
* Bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 8-10 years of relevant experience
Desirable Skills:
* Knowledge of DIN ISO and Australian Standards for the design and construction of rail mounted machines for the materials handling mining industry
* Experience in the use of Finite Element Analysis (FEA) analytical techniques preferred
